TOOLBOX 7 PPD

Based on the customer profile, I had a chance to brainstorm ideas and plan for final product that I will make for the targeted customer. I’ve learned how to connect resources that I collected and visualize that into actual products. During this process I had to think about connection to the market and the position of my product. In my case I had to think where should I put design elements to satisfy my targeted customer with reasonable price range. Putting many designs in the conceptual part was good opportunity to show my purpose and inspirations but I had to question myself would it have a reason for customer to choose it rather than other products. Thinking of materials was also another factor to think about. Since my design is a puffer jacket, it relates to using feathers even if it’s from animals or not. If I do use animal feathers this can cause big affect on my targeted market where animal rights is getting important. I had to come up with options where I can find balance.

What I really learned from this session was putting all the big chunks of research and ideas into a more narrow and ideas that are closer to reality. It was repeating questions to myself about which design elements will deliver more clearer message to the viewers. This particular session was very important to me because it was an opportunity to look back at my previous works and find parts that I’ve missed. I was then able to have a stronger connection between my product and all of the art pieces that I got inspired from.
